Eddie Stobart Ltd is set to lease a warehouse and distribution development in Foston after agreeing terms on a deal with commercial property agents Rushton Hickman.
As Staffordshire Live reports, the British Haulage and logistics giant is leasing Merlin Business Park, which 112,509 sq metres of warehouse space. The facility has five warehouse and storage units with 7.5 to 8.5-metre eaves height and loading doors.
In addition, the secure complex has a yard for loading up trucks, plus parking and outside storage options.
Rushton Hickman director Mark Richardson says the site offers great road links and is easily accessible from the A50 trunk road:
The development was previously occupied for a number of years by a haulier and completely lends itself to Eddie Stobart’s use as a warehouse and distribution site for them. We are seeing increasing demand in the area for large distribution bases, driven by our central geographic location and great road links, in this case with the site being easily accessible from the main A50 trunk road. We commenced marketing of the development late December. By February a deal to lease the site had been agreed with Eddie Stobart Ltd with completion in April. All in all the timescale has been quick and it’s a fantastic result for our client.
Meanwhile, co-director Graham Bancroft believes the distribution and industrial sectors remain the strongest drivers in the regional commercial market:
The market for both industrial and warehouse sector remains highly active with rental levels and investment returns remaining strong. Rushton Hickman have been consistent in our success of getting deals agreed for both large and small units over the years which has continued unabated throughout the pandemic. Both the distribution and industrial sectors remain the strongest drivers in the regional commercial market. Demand is currently outstripping supply, and with the large number of enquires we are receiving we’d urge anyone with industrial or warehouse units they are looking to sell or let to get in touch with us to help with the marketing.
