Eurovignette fees to increase soon – in two phases

You can read this article in 4 minutes

The prices of Eurovignettes will increase in two stages. The first increases concern mainly older vehicles.

In Denmark, Luxembourg, the Netherlands and Sweden, domestic and foreign trucks of 12 tonnes or less travelling on the local motorways are subject to a toll in the form of the so-called Eurovignette. According to the German Forwarding and Logistics Association (DSLV), the Eurovignette tariffs will be raised in two stages – on 1 July 2019 and on 1 January 2020.

July increases

The increases from 1 July 2019 mainly concern older vehicles meeting the Euro 4 and lower emission standards. For example, the annual toll for Euro 4 vehicles with four or more axles will increase from the current €1,250 to €1,404. For Euro 3 vehicles with four axles or more, the rate will increase from €1,250 to €1,543, while the price of the daily vignette will increase from €8 to €12 for all categories.

The second stage of price increases

On 1 January 2020, tariffs will increase for all Euro 5 vehicles. The annual toll for vehicles in this category with at least four axles will increase from €1,250 to €1,327.

The Eurovignette rates depend on the number of axles (vehicles with one to three axles, vehicles with at least four axles), emission classes and the period for which they are purchased (daily, weekly, monthly and annual vignettes).

How and where can you buy a Eurovignette?

The vignettes can be purchased at petrol stations, border clearance points as well as at over 500 dedicated service points of AGES – the Eurovignette operator. You will pay for them by fuel card or fleet card (DKV, ENI/Agip, Esso, euroShell, eurotoll sas, EUROTRAFIC, Eurowag, LogPay, Multi Service Tolls, OMV, PLOSE, Ressa, Statoil, TOTAL, TSI Global Star, UTA), and credit card Mastercard or VISA.

Since October 2008, the Eurovignette can also be purchased online. Simply visit: https://www.eurovignettes.eu, without the need to register or directly through the selected fuel card issuer.

In order to make a purchase, you need to provide the following data in the system: registration number, country of registration, emission class, number of axles and period of use. In addition, you need to select the vignette validity time. After purchasing a vignette, the vehicle to which it relates is entered into the system’s database for a specified period of time. As a result, the driver does not need any paper proof of purchase or stickers on the glass, e.g. during an inspection.

Answers to the most frequently asked questions regarding the purchase of Eurovignettes can be found on the official website eurovignettes.eu.
