The demonstrations have caused traffic problems in many parts of the country. A protest by representatives of the transport industry is also planned in the country.
Spanish farmers are holding various protests to demand higher prices for agricultural products, more support from the EU and better living conditions. The demonstrations are disrupting traffic on many roads, including motorways.

Transport to protest later this week
A protest in the transport sector will also start this week. The Platform for the Defence of the Transport Sector is calling for participation in an indefinite general strike on Saturday 10 February.
At a press conference in Madrid yesterday, the platform of self-employed drivers and micro-enterprises announced that the road transport sector would join the farmers’ protest. So far, the action has not been supported by other road transport employers’ associations.
