TEAL Mobility, jointly owned by the two companies, aims to accelerate the adoption of hydrogen for heavy-duty trucks by establishing a network of over 100 refuelling stations along major European transport routes within the next ten years, forming the first transnational European network of its scale, operating under the TotalEnergies brand.

By the end of 2024, around 20 stations will be operational in France, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxemburg, and Germany.

TEAL Mobility is aimed to offer a viable solution for transport and logistics operators committed to reducing their carbon dioxide emissions. According to the energy companies, hydrogen is becoming a promising option for long-distance road transport due to its quick refuelling time of approximately 15 minutes and an extended range of around 800 kilometres, all while preserving the vehicle’s loading capacity.

This joint venture combines the expertise of Air Liquide and TotalEnergies. Air Liquide brings its knowledge of hydrogen technologies and the entire hydrogen value chain, while TotalEnergies contributes its experience in the operation and management of filling station networks and the distribution of energy to business-to-business (BtoB) customers.

TEAL Mobility functions as the intermediary between hydrogen transportation customers and its network of stations. The joint venture is responsible for the development, operation, and supply of hydrogen to these stations, ensuring seamless access to hydrogen fuel for heavy-duty vehicle operators across Europe.
