France-based international contract logistics provider ID Logistics has announced the award of a new e-commerce contract that will see the company operate a 450,000 sq ft fulfilment centre in Sittingbourne, Kent. According to the company, the site will become operational in early May 2026 and will create over 300 jobs.
The new facility will provide warehousing, fulfilment and distribution services and will be equipped with automation and digital systems intended to improve efficiency and scalability. ID Logistics states that the investment is designed to support growth from its e-commerce customer base.
The contract expands ID Logistics’ UK network to three sites: Northampton, Leeds and Sittingbourne. The company says this reflects its growing activity in the UK market and its role in providing multi-channel logistics services to retail and e-commerce customers.
Managing director Stuart Evans said the UK remains a key market for the business and that the Sittingbourne facility forms part of its long-term plans in the country. He added that the site is expected to support customer growth and add new employment opportunities.
ID Logistics reports that the building will incorporate modern infrastructure intended to improve energy efficiency, operational performance and employee safety. The company says these features align with its wider sustainability objectives.
The Sittingbourne site is scheduled to open in May 2026.
