Earlier this week, a 32-year-old haulier from Denmark was sentenced to 60 days in prison and fined 315,000 DKK (€42,000) for running a road transport company without the required permits. Moreover, the haulier, who was also found guilty of driving a truck while banned from driving, has had 25,000 DKK of his company’s profits seized by the authorities.

According to transportnyhederne.dk, the 32-year-old haulier ran his road transport company for over a month without a license to conduct freight on behalf of foreign carriers.

Although the haulier was handed a six-month prison sentence, only sixty days of it must be served. For the remaining four month of the sentence, the road transport boss will need to do 100 hours of community service. The 32-year-old’s driver’s license has also been also seized.

A 56-year-old man was charged in the case too; he too was fined DKK 315,000 for facilitating the transport of goods for foreign carriers without authorization.

Neither of the men were present in court when the verdict was heard.
