According to the Czech Police, the driver was arrested and extradited to Germany after trying to flee the German police by speeding away across border.

It is said that the Mercedes driver’s aggressive driving endangered the lives and health of other road users.

Crossing the border nonetheless did little to help the Polish driver of the Mercedes, as once he joined the D8 in the Czech Republic, the Czech police merely continued the pursuit.

The driver, who was later found to be under the influence of drugs, twice managed to dodge road blocks in Germany.

However, his desperate bid to escape arrest came to a thumping end when the Czech Police used a HGV to block the motorway in the direction of Prague.

As explained by officers, the Mercedes driver was undeterred by the road block and tried find a way through it at high speed. The maneuver failed as the stolen vehicle crashed into the HGV, allowing the police to move in.

The driver was then pulled out of the wrecked vehicle and handed over the German authorities.
