Kuehne+Nagel begins AI-enabled overhaul of warehouse operations at 1,000 sites

Kuehne+Nagel has begun transferring warehouse operations at more than 1,000 locations to a single cloud-based management platform, in what the company describes as one of the logistics industry’s largest warehouse technology transformations.

The global rollout covers Kuehne+Nagel contract logistics sites in close to 100 countries. It will move the company’s existing KN SwiftLOG warehouse management system into a unified platform built using technology supplied by Blue Yonder.

Implementation began in April 2026 and will take place in phases to reduce the risk of disruption to existing warehouse operations. The first customer deployment is expected to go live in Asia during July.

One system across the global warehouse network

KN SwiftLOG is already used to manage Kuehne+Nagel’s warehouse activities. Rather than replacing the system entirely, the project will develop it into a cloud-native platform with what the company calls “agentic AI capabilities”.

The aim is to standardise processes across locations while connecting warehouse operations, data and workflows more closely. This could be particularly important for multinational customers whose goods are handled at several Kuehne+Nagel facilities in different countries.

According to the logistics group, the platform will support more accurate planning, improved visibility and faster responses when supply-chain disruptions occur.

“Improving efficiency remains a key driver for adopting cloud-based solutions,” said Eduardo Razuck, executive vice-president for contract logistics at Kuehne+Nagel.

He added that the change should help the company deliver more consistent operations at scale and respond more quickly to changing customer requirements.

AI capabilities form part of the platform

Kuehne+Nagel says the upgraded KN SwiftLOG platform will include agentic AI capabilities, data-driven insights and intelligent automation.

According to the company, the system is intended to improve operational visibility, planning and responsiveness across its contract logistics network. Blue Yonder says the cloud-based platform will also support greater productivity, speed and agility.
