Kuehne+Nagel has announced the opening of a new transshipment warehouse in Bremen as part of its efforts to optimise its land transport infrastructure in northwest Germany. The facility is located within the freight transport centre (GVZ) and complements the company’s existing depot in Oldenburg. Together, these sites are intended to strengthen connections between the hinterland and the seaports of Wilhelmshaven, Brake, and Bremen/Bremerhaven.
The new warehouse covers an area of approximately 8,000 square metres and is designed to support general cargo services through a three-shift operational structure. Additionally, 2,000 square metres of the facility are allocated to transport-related logistics activities, such as container unloading and interim storage.
The Bremen site is directly integrated into Kuehne+Nagel’s Europe-wide land transport network, enhancing its logistics capabilities in the region.
According to Tobias Jerschke, CEO of Kuehne+Nagel Germany, the opening of the new location allows the company to expand its range of services, bridging transport and contract logistics operations.
