Kuehne + Nagel expands to the Netherlands, Belgium and Denmark.

The international logistics operator Kuehne + Nagel recently announced plans to take over the company Rotra based in the Netherlands. This acquisition will allow the logistics giant to expand its services into the Dutch, Belgian and Danish transport market.

Rotra is a family company with a fleet of 200 trucks and transhipment points in the Netherlands and Belgium. It employs approx 800 employees, provides contract logistics services to clients from Denmark, the Netherlands, Belgium and international clients. Its annual net income exceeds 100 million euros. After completing the transaction, Rotra will retain control over its sea freight, air freight and container terminal activities. The purchase of the company is to enable the international giant to expand the scope of logistics and forwarding services.

Rotra is a leading and well-rooted player in the Netherlands and Belgium – two essential points on the logistics map in Europe, „said Stefan Paul in a statement, a member of the board at Kuehne + Nagel International AG responsible for road freight. 

– Such activities strategically strengthen and supplement the road supply chain for the benefit of our local and international customers who can already benefit from the extended offer of services in this region – comments the acquisition of Rotra Stefan Paul.
