German police officers were shocked to find out that the lorry driver they stopped for routine checks had been living in the cabin of the vehicle since July. According to infranken.de, the police have reported both the driver and his employer to the court.

German police officers stopped a lorry loaded with fruit and vegetables on the A9 motorway near Berg on Monday morning (November 30th, 2020).

While carrying out routine checks, the officers were alarmed to find out how massively the driver disregarded the regulations on driver hours and rest. Indeed, it was found that he hadn’t spent a single night of rest outside of the vehicle’s cabin since July.

The driver didn’t receive a fine on the spot, but he and his Lithuanian employer were reported to the court for further procedures.
