Lorry driver uninjured after nasty accident in Germany

A major accident involving an HGV occured on Germany's A30 on Saturday morning. Fortunately, the driver was not injured.

According to an official police report, at around 8.30 am, a 39-year-old driver from Bad Oeynhausen was driving his truck in the direction of Osnabrück. 

Then, as he exited the motorway at the Gohfeld junction, he lost control of the vehicle for reasons that have not yet been clarified.

The vehicle crashed through the barrier and overturned, dumping its cargo down the side of the slope at the other side of the barrier.

Most importantly, the driver escaped uninjured. However, the police estimate the cost of the property damage at at EUR 100,000.

The truck and its load were recovered with the help of crane.
