From January, the transport industry must prepare for significant traffic restrictions due to the necessary renovation of the Lueg Bridge on the Tyrolean Brenner motorway (A13). To facilitate journey planning, Asfinag has published a travel calendar valid from 1 January 2025.
The travel calendar includes up to 180 days of two-lane traffic in both directions and 14 additional days of truck driving bans. The state of Tyrol has also provided information about accompanying measures.
Key aspects of temporary two-way traffic:
- Vehicles over 3.5 tonnes (including trucks and buses) will be required to move to the left lane to pass the bridge centrally.
- Two-lane traffic will be in effect for approximately 170 days in the southbound direction (towards Brenner) and 160 days in the northbound direction (towards Innsbruck).
