Hundreds of police officers will check lorries and buses from 19th to 25th July as another Roadpol TRUCK & BUS Operation is going to be carried out.
Police officers will check drivers' compliance with norms regulating work and rest time. They will also control the technical condition of vehicles and the proper securing of cargo.
The Truck & Bus operation serves educational purposes. In addition to punishing violations, officers will inform drivers about the dangers associated with the lack of fastened belts.
Also, police officers will alert drivers to the growing problem of distraction while driving. Therefore, the unauthorised use of mobile phones while driving will also be controlled and punished.

The campaign is conducted in countries belonging to ROADPOL:
Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, France, Finland, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Lithuania, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Great Britain, Estonia and Italy.
