A motorist who recklessly overtook and braked in front of a truck has been sentenced to 60 days of imprisonment in Denmark. In addition, after his release he won’t be allowed to drive for 6 months, while his car has also been confiscated.

The 37-year-old motorist was found guilty of reckless driving at a court in Horsens on Tuesday.

The car driver braked sharply in front of a truck he had overtaken on the East Jutland motorway back in April of this year. This forced the driver in the HGV behind to slam on the brakes in order to avoid a collision.

The judge responsible for the case sentenced the car driver to 60 days in prison. In addition, he was disqualified from driving for 6 months following the completion of his sentence. Finally, the car that the motorist was driving during the incident, which was registered to his mother, has been confiscated.

The motorist has launched an appeal against the decision.
