The new gym is located on the route running along the France-Germany border in Baden-Württemberg.
It is available to all travelers but is aimed at professional drivers in particular. It is hoped that the simple exercises that can be performed at the gym will help with relaxation and active rest during breaks from work.
The facility is part of the European network of gyms – Truckers GYM , which is the flagship project of the Polish non-governmental organization – Truckers Life (the foundation works to improve the health and safety of professional drivers ).
The new gym was built thanks to the support of UTA.“UTA has been a reliable partner for drivers for decades and is also committed to protecting the health of drivers in their challenging daily lives,” says Carsten Bettermann, CEO of UTA.
“We have a long-term partnership with the DocStop initiative, and thanks to our ‘We care for you' campaigns, we have helped truck drivers take care of their health and daily hygiene during the peak phases of the coronavirus pandemic. I am glad that now, together with Truckers Life, we can support truck drivers on the road and facilitate their sports activities, which, thanks to such gyms, can be easily integrated into their daily work routine and constitute a healthy counterbalance to the long hours behind the wheel,” adds Bettermann.
