Drivers traveling on the M1 motorway in the United Kingdom can expect traffic jams and detours this coming weekend. A construction of a new bridge that will be part of the Kegwroth bypass is underway.
The lanes in both directions will be closed on M1 between 23A Junction and 24 Junction. Works will commence on Friday, 11 May at 22:00 and will end on Sunday, 13 May at 15:00. During this time, traffic will be directed via A453 (Ashby Road).

Work is being carried out to improve road connections to Segro Logistics Park East Midlands Gateway – a new distribution center that is being built near the East Midlands airport.
As the M1 is one of the UK’s busiest motorways, we expect significant congestion and delays along this diversion route and the motorway. Therefore we advise drivers avoid this area if possible and allow for extra time for their journey – in particular, if traveling to East Midlands Airport” – reads Segro’s statement.
