According to PostNord’s E-barometer report on the Swedish ecommerce market, consumers consider the ability to choose delivery options and having a specified delivery date as among the most important factors.

In the second quarter of the year, 59% of respondents believe that the most crucial aspect is the ability to select how a product is delivered, including options like home delivery, pick-up points, and parcel lockers.

Compared to the same quarter in 2019, it’s now more common for customers to abandon a purchase if their preferred delivery option is unavailable, particularly among the 30-49 age group.

Additionally, 26% of respondents emphasise the importance of having a specific #delivery date, as it creates a secure and predictable shopping experience that can be integrated into their daily lives. Despite increased delivery choices, pick-up points remain the most popular delivery method, with 45% of online shoppers opting for this option.

Postnord also notes a significant increase in interest in #parcellockers, which have grown in preference from 5% to one in five consumers since 2019.
