“The repair of the road, which will be divided into six stages, will involve milling the surface to a total thickness of 18 centimetres. After milling, the substructure, ballast and wearing course will be laid with technological breaks, after which the shoulders and horizontal road markings will be restored,” says the Czech Road and Motorway Directorate (ŘSD).
From 2 to 10 April, traffic on the Mlýnec – Kateřina section will be limited to one lane. The entrance and exit to MÚK Kateřina, including the Kateřina lorry park, will be open.
From 10 April to 11 June, traffic on the Mlýnec – Kateřina section will be restricted to the left-hand side of the motorway in both directions, with two lanes in the direction of Prague and one in the direction of Germany. The Kateřina MÚK entrance and exit, including the car park, will not be accessible during this period. The MOL petrol station, restaurant and car park will be accessible from the II/605 road.
“This restriction can cause problems and complications when parking trucks,” – said Ondřej Hodan, a police spokesman quoted by the Czech news portal qap.cz.
From 11 June to 14 June, traffic will be limited to one lane at a time. Traffic will be available at the entrance and exit to MÚK Kateřina, including the rest area.
In addition, from 2 April to 25 May, the I/21 road will be partially closed between the motorway exit (exit 128 towards Prague) and the Tachov junction (II/199) due to road surface repairs. Traffic will be shuttled there.
What’s more, from 2 to 14 April, exit 128 Nová Hospoda in the direction of Prague will be closed due to repairs. Later, from 15 April to 5 May, exit no. 128 Nová Hospoda in the direction of Germany will be closed.
