As many as 5,000 police officers will control trucks as part of a nationwide campaign in Germany. Check out what the police will focus on during these intensified actions.

German authorities, as part of the „sicher.mobil.leben” campaign, (editor’s note – in free translation: safe – mobile – life) will carry out intensified truck inspections on 12 September. Part of the checks will take place at the 725 permanent checkpoints spread all over the country.

The police will primarily check the technical condition of the trucks (particularly the tires and brakes), compliance with the permissible dimensions and axle loads, as well as securing loads. The officers will also pay attention to compliance with the provisions governing work and rest times.

The Federal Office of Freight Transport (BAG) will also join the campaign. Around 80 BAG officials will carry out activities at two checkpoints. They promise to carry out very thorough and time-consuming inspections.
