After more than three years of preparation, the futuristic Starship vehicle has become a reality. AirFlow Truck in cooperation with Shell presented the prototype of this eco-friendly and economical truck.

The first sketches of this futuristic car were created almost 31 years ago. Starship is the third approach of companies to create an eco-friendly truck that would improve efficiency in transport.

The futuristic vehicle is to emit less CO2 and have greater overall efficiency and fuel economy. This new generation of trucks will have a non-standard, aerodynamic design and solar panels made of carbon fiber on the roof of the semi-trailer.

Despite the use of very modern solutions, Starship will be powered by a diesel engine (400 hp). An additional electric motor will propel the rear axle, which will improve the performance of the truck when driving uphill.

Specification

Starship has been equipped with a full set of advanced technologies such as:

– hybrid axle system to increase power when changing gears,

– non-standard automatic tire inflation system, ensuring constant tire pressure and optimal fuel economy,

5000-watt solar system that charges and stores energy thanks to a 48-volt battery.

The first tests on the roads are to begin in May. Until then, Starship will be presented at numerous transport fairs.
