Summer restrictions on heavy goods vehicle traffic in Ukraine

As of 1 June, Ukraine has been subject to summer restrictions on heavy goods vehicles with GVW over 24 t. The ban applies to trucks with a single axle load above 7 t and covers all public roads on days when the temperature exceeds 28°C.

The summer ban on heavy goods vehicle traffic continues throughout the summer in Ukraine. The National Roads Agency of Ukraine (Ukrawtodor) informs that the restriction will be in force on days when the air temperature exceeds 28 degrees Celsius and only between 10:00 and 22:00.

The Ukrainian authorities have designated 982 parking spaces for drivers to use during the restriction period. The parking lots are located throughout the country close to petrol stations and other facilities important for truckers.

The restrictions in Ukraine do not apply to the transport of the following goods:

– hazardous materials,

– perishable products,

– live animals,

– vehicles that remove obstacles formed after road accidents.
