The decision to allow super-ecocombis on Swedish roads is seen as a way to reduce emissions and improve efficiency in the transport sector.

Super-ecocombis can carry up to 25% more cargo than traditional trucks, which means that fewer trucks are needed to transport the same amount of goods. This can lead to a reduction in emissions, as well as a reduction in traffic congestion.

Sweden is following the example of Finland, which has allowed super-ecocombis on its roads since 2019. Finland has reported that the use of super-ecocombis has led to a reduction in emissions and an improvement in road safety.

The super-ecocombis that will be allowed on Swedish roads are up to 34.5 meters long and 2.6 meters wide, and are usually made of a tractor and two trailers.. They must be equipped with special safety features, such as a reversing camera and a side protection system.

The drivers of super-ecocombis must also have special training.

The Swedish Transport Agency will monitor the use of super-ecocombis closely to ensure that they are safe. The agency will also collect data on the environmental impact of these trucks.
