Brands associated with the logistics sector, including the courier services market, have gained worth in the last year. Amazon, FedEx, and UPS have never been worth that much before – as shown by the latest ranking comparing the most valuable brands in the world.
According to the latest, prestigious report created by experts of the Interbrand analytics company, Apple is the most valuable brand in the world, followed by Google. However, the most spectacular growths are recorded by companies from the logistics sector. What is more, none of the brands listed in this ranking has diminished its value.
The real “tiger” among world brands is Amazon. Over a dozen years practically unnoticeable in the giants’ classifications is now the third (just after Apple and Google) brand of the world, and its value in the last year has increased by 56 percent! This is the highest growth among all brands listed by Interbrand.
According to Interbrand analysts, Amazon is currently worth 100.7 billion dollars (for comparison: Google is a brand valued at around 155 billion, and Apple – at around 214 billion dollars). In the last 12 months, Amazon has advanced in the ranking by two places ahead of the Microsoft and Coca Cola brands.
On the logistics market, UPS took 29th place and its brand is worth about 16.5 billion dollars. That’s 3 percent more than last year and about 10 percent more than two years ago.
FedEx worth grew by almost a quarter in the last two years, and by 10 percent in the last 12 months. The American tycoon, who is now offers its services in most parts of the world is worth around 6.9 billion dollars today (72th position in the ranking).
DHL logistics operator also ranks in the first one hundred most valuable brands in the world. The value of its brand is currently almost USD 6 billion (compared to last year it increased by approx. 3 percent). DHL is the only Europe-based brand dealing in logistics and transport of parcels, which was included in the global ranking.
