Total Logistix has announced that it has acquired Thetford-based Star Transport, which had gone into administration last month.
Writing on LinkedIn, Total Logistix said that following a turbulent period in which Bomfords (who acquired Star Transport in 2021) went into administration, its acquisition will safeguard more than 100 jobs.
Star Transport, which was founded back in 1982, had purchased some of Bomfords’ assets in the wake of Bomfords going into administration in December. However, last month, Star Transport suffered the same fate.
Commenting on the deal, Benjamin Wiles, managing director of restructuring at administrators Kroll, told the local press:
“It’s been a tough time in the logistics sector and we don’t expect this to be the last business we support in the space over the coming months. We’re glad to have been able to support Star and secure the future of the business and its employees.”
