Since 4 June, the traffic of heavy goods vehicles in transit with four or more axes is limited on Spanish roads – N-121-A, N-121-B and NA-1210. Restrictions are in place due to roadworks in the Belate and Almandoz tunnels.

The ban was to apply until Sunday, July 15. However, the authorities decided to extend it until November 30 this year.  Failure to comply with the restrictions will result in a fine of 200 euros.

Complicated restriction

The restriction is valid between 6 am and 10 pm and depends on the licence plate number. For a week, only trucks with registrations ending with an odd digit can pass. The following week, only trucks with even-numbered licence plate can drive through. This week (between July 16 and July 22), trucks with a registration number ending with an odd digit will be allowed to cross.

The restrictions apply to roads:

N-121-A between kilometer 5.4. (roundabout at the Ezkaba Tunnels) and kilometer 66 (at the northern entrance to Ber)

N-121-B (Oronoz Mugairi-Dantxarinea),

NA-1210 (Belate Port – all the way).
