Traffic restrictions in Spain

13th, 14th and 17th of April are public holidays in many regions of Spain. Vehicles with DMC over 7.5 t will be subject to traffic ban. The restrictions were also made in Madrid.

13th and 14th of April – Maundy Thursday and Good Friday – are public holidays in Spain. Holy Monday (April 17), however is a public holiday only in Catalonia, Valencia, Navarre, Basque Country, the La Rioja autonomous community and Balearic Islands. During these days in the regions mentioned above there is a traffic ban for trucks with a maximum permissible mass of over 7.5 t.

Traffic restrictions on trucks in Madrid

Madrid authorities have implemented traffic restrictions for trucks in the city centre due to the processions taking place during the Holy Week. 12th, 13th, 14th and 15th of April, during certain hours, the traffic will be banned for vehicles with DMC of over 3.5 t. Trucks will be banned from entering the city centre during the Holy Wednesday (April 12), Maundy Thursday (April 13) and Good Friday (April 14) between 4:00 p.m. and 6 a.m. and on Holy Saturday (April 15) between 2:00 p.m. and 11 p.m.
