TRANSPRESS – 30 years on the road to success

The story of the leading Bulgarian transport and logistics company TRANSPRESS began 30 years ago as a family-owned business with just a few vehicles. The first transport assignment was to carry out daily deliveries of European newspapers and magazines to Bulgaria. The goal was to beat the time of air deliveries, which were not fast enough at that time. Despite all the challenges, TRANSPRESS team succeeded.

The outstanding delivery time quickly attracted more and more customers. Both TRANSPRESS fleet and team started to grow. Soon the company was ready to develop its own national network with logistics centers in major cities. In 2008, TRANSPRESS became part of DACHSER Global Network and its official partner for Bulgaria, North Macedonia, Albania, and Kosovo. Today, it offers a complete portfolio of transport and logistics services to thousands of customers in Bulgaria and around the world, delivering to and from five continents.

Our direction: greener, more effective, closer to our clients. What are the key success factors for being one of the leading transport companies in Bulgaria?

For 30 years our most important asset has been our team. Our 1000 outstanding employees with professional expertise, motivation and open hearts are the engine of the company. In addition, we have always been pioneers and rely on innovations in everything we do – from fleet concept and development through lean management implementation to innovative solutions for automation in warehouses and digitalization, including the use of AI and Big Data Analytics. A key success factor is our long-standing stable partnership with the international logistics leader DACHSER and the opportunity to operate in its global network of over 400 locations.

If you had to describe TRANSPRESS in just one word, what would it be?

Efficiency. Тhe more efficient we are getting, the more useful we are to customers in terms of quality, timing and pricing we can offer. Being really efficient also helps us being environment-friendly. Nowadays, being green is a priority and responsibility for all of us.

After 30 years on the market, what are the next steps?

We are going to develop even further our policy of being very close to our customers’ businesses and acting not only as a service provider, but also as their consultant, thus adding value by improved processes and cost-efficiency. In recent years, our top priority has been introducing green solutions in our fleet and our buildings, as well as in using renewable energy, packaging, recycling, specialized fuel-efficiency drivers’ trainings, etc. Green policy is part of our vision and values, and it is also important for our preparation to enter the new ESG era. Of course, we will keep investing in people and new technologies so to be even more efficient and sustainable.

From specific tasks to full-service solutions

TRANSPRESS is ready to meet the specific needs of its clients by offering specialized transport and logistics services, as well as warehouse storage and customs services. However, it is the full-service solutions in contract logistics that recently more and more companies prefer to use. TRANSPRESS offers professional support from A to Z, i.e. all the way from the manufacturer to the end customer – starting with the long-distance deliveries, customs clearance, DE-containerization, load inspection, storage of goods into the warehouse and monitoring via our WMS system and last-mile delivery to the end customers in Europe. We also offer additional services, such as sorting of goods (by color, in alphabetical order, by type), repackaging, labeling, registering serial numbers and document management (invoices, guarantee sheets, stock cards, lists, etc.).

Operating in all European countries and managing FTL & LTL procedures

TRANSPRESS has daily FTL & LTL departures from/to Europe. Most of this traffic is organized as Line-haul. Half of it is with double-crew. Our aim is to converge cost profiles of single and double crews via the increased monthly capacity of double manned vehicles (50-60% more carried loads per month than single manned vehicles). Thus we share Value Creation and resilience, as well as lower CO2 emissions per km. We provide new Euro 6 trucks registered on EU plates. Each truck and trailer are equipped with full telematics for real-time visibility and is compliant with all transport requirements. You can choose from express and standard transit time.

Our drivers follow targets to swap an empty container with one that is loaded for 10 minutes, and our dispatchers can consult you on most efficient use of the swap bodies (incl. combinations of night line-hauls and daily last mile utilization of one swap body). Our IT infrastructure allows full visibility. We are focused on the on-time delivery and cost optimization, so you can focus on your sales and business growth. With own fleet and trained drivers, we orchestrate and control the efficiency of your road networks.

We operate a fleet of 140 Swap-Bodies. Here are three reasons to use this type of logistics:

  1. Maximize driving time and minimize handling operations; Time saving – no need for the vehicle to participate in shipment preparation.
  2. The loads being collected by the driver does not affect the workflow at the warehouse.
  3. The swap body can serve as temporary “storage space”.
