This month, holiday traffic restrictions apply only in Liechtenstein and Slovenia. In February, winter bans in France will also come into force. In addition to sector-specific and night bans, truck traffic will therefore be prohibited on the following dates:

2 February – Monday, Candlemas

Liechtenstein – ban from 00:00 to 24:00 – in this country it applies to trucks with a gross vehicle weight above 3.5 t, as well as vehicle combinations with a gross vehicle weight above 5 t.

8 February – Sunday, Slovenian Culture Day

Slovenia – from 8:00 to 22:00. In Slovenia, traffic bans apply to trucks and vehicle combinations with a gross vehicle weight exceeding 7.5 t.

Additional traffic bans in France

By decree at the end of December 2025, the French Ministry of the Interior introduced, as every year, additional truck traffic bans for vehicles over 7.5 t. They are scheduled, among other times, in February.

They will apply in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region on Saturdays 7, 14, 21 and 28 February from 7:00 to 18:00.

Block clearance checks in Tyrol

It is worth remembering that several dates for so-called block clearance checks in Tyrol are also scheduled this month. On these days, truck traffic at the German-Austrian border crossing is metered by the Austrians. Vehicles are let through in blocks of 250–300 vehicles, which most often causes long traffic jams on the German side of the border. The checks are scheduled in February for:

  • 2 February (Monday),
  • 9 February (Monday),
  • 16 February (Monday),
  • 23 February (Monday).
