Trucks are associated primarily with the transport of goods. It turns out that they can be used for completely different purposes. The American shelter for pets, Tuscolusa Metro, decided to turn a truck into a mobile adoption centre. Thanks to it, animals have a better chance for adoption.

The mobile adoption centre has been in operation for some time. The truck can accommodate 33 animals. The interior is equipped with special spacious metal cages, there is also space for several transporters and a sanitary corner with a washbasin. The cost of specialized and adapted to the needs of the shelter is about 224 thousand dollars.

Animals closer to people

The truck will take part in many local events. In this way, the shelter wants to be part of the local community. The truck will also serve as a makeshift ambulance. The hostel intends to use it as transport of sick animals to veterinary clinics. In an interview with CBS24 television, the employees of the hostel admit that their new vehicle will significantly facilitate finding good homes for their pets.

So many people are afraid to come to the shelter because it is very overwhelming for them. A visit with us can be stressful. People see so many needy animals. The mobile adoption centre allows us to deliver animals directly to people,” says Jennifer Earp from Tuscolusa Metro in an interview with CBS24.
