The main beneficiary, at least in terms of the number of its sites that will receive funding, is motorway service station operator Moto. As many as 7 of its service stations will receive taxpayer’s cash to upgrade either welfare facilities, parking, or both.
15 of the 39 locations to receive funding will use the money to improve welfare facilities.
When it comes to the region that will benefit the most, 7 sites based in Lincolnshire have been awarded funds – more than in any county. Both Yorkshire and Kent will see 5 sites benefit from state funding.
As regards truck stops, The Hollies Truckstop, Scunthorpe Truck Stop, Grimsby Truck Stop and Wash, and Teddington Hands Truck Stop, will also benefit.
