White Logistics trials hydrogen lorries to reduce carbon footprint

British haulier White Logistics has partnered with Hydrogen Vehicle Systems to trial hydrogen fuel cell lorries, aiming to reduce their carbon footprint.

The agreement involves White Logistics receiving trial vehicles for testing on their delivery routes and experiencing hydrogen fueling infrastructure firsthand. This collaboration will allow data sharing and collaboration on various aspects of hydrogen electric vehicle technology, hydrogen infrastructure, and refuelling equipment.

We are exploring the latest developments in alternative fuels and are very excited about working with HVS to understand how Hydrogen fuel cell vehicles will support us in our net zero ambitions, said Graeme White, CEO of White Logistics, in the press release.

HVS develops hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles specifically designed for heavy-duty commercial use. The company highlights the environmental benefits and efficiency of their technology.

The partnership leverages Hydrogen Vehicle Systems’s Transition to Zero Programme, which offers potential partners the opportunity to trial their hydrogen trucks and receive support throughout the transition to zero-emission operations. This includes guidance on technology options, hydrogen infrastructure, regulations, financing, and training for drivers and maintenance personnel.
