Dutch industry body launches “It’s only possible with Logistics” campaign

Transport en Logistiek Nederland (TLN), an industry body representing the road transport and logistics sector in the Netherlands, has launched a nationwide public awareness campaign named ‘It's only possible with logistics'. TLN says the aim of the campaign is to broadcast the message that the logistics sector is lifeblood of the Dutch economy.

Explaining the need for the campaign, TLN writes that the importance of logistics has been quickly forgotten about by the general public since the pandemic.

Companies in the Dutch transport and logistics sector therefore intend to show once again what an indispensable contribution they make to society.

In addition, TLN wants to use the 3-year campaign to highlight the interesting career opportunities in the sector.

Commercials on national television broadcasting the campaign’s message premiered on Monday, August 28. The campaign also features radio ads and billboards in prominent places.

According to TLN, 875,000 people work in logistics positions in the Netherlands. This means that the sector accounts for about 10% of the total number of jobs in the country.

“Everyone thinks it’s totally normal that all kinds of things end up in the right place at the right time, but that doesn’t happen automatically,” says Elisabeth Post, chair of TLN’s board. “That is the result of great commitment, every day, from all our companies and their employees. We are indispensable to everyone’s daily life and to the economy. This role received a lot of attention during the coronavirus period, but that seems to have been quickly forgotten.”

Few people in the Netherlands see the diverse career opportunities in the industry, according to recent research that was commissioned by TLN.

“Logistics is much more than just transport. The work behind the scenes is often still unknown. This campaign should change that. In addition, ‘It’s only possible with logistics’ mainly puts employees in the spotlight,” says TLN.
