DAF Trucks has expanded its vehicle range with factory-fitted PACCAR bodies for its XB series and a new chassis line tailored for car transport, now available through dealers across Europe.

DAF’s XB range now includes ex-factory Box Bodies, Curtain siders, and Aerobody variants, offered for the 10t, 12t, and 18t chassis. Built and assembled at DAF’s Leyland facility in the UK, these body types were previously only available domestically but are now accessible on the continent. All body types can be ordered with a variety of dimensions, tail lifts, and lighting configurations.

The integration of factory-built bodies shortens lead times and improves chassis-to-body compatibility, offering operators a fully bodied vehicle direct from DAF. Cab options include Day, Extended Day, and Sleeper versions, and the range supports powertrains from 7.5t to 19t — including fully electric zero-emission models aimed at urban distribution.

“This ex-factory body solution ensures outstanding build quality and seamless integration, as well as shortest lead times – allowing operators to get their vehicles on the road faster and with the highest reliability,” said Bart Bosmans, member of the DAF Board of Management responsible for Marketing and Sales.

New 83cm chassis height enables double-deck loading within EU 4m limit

In a separate development, DAF has introduced a low-height chassis range designed specifically for transporting cars, trucks, and tractors. Available across its XD, XF, XG and XG+ models, the new chassis features a reduced ride height of just 83 cm, achieved by lowering the suspension by 4 cm and using 22.5-inch wheels with low-profile tyres. These configurations help maximise usable space while remaining within the EU’s 4-metre vehicle height limit.

The XD variant is also available with a low or slanted roof, allowing vehicles to be loaded above the cab while retaining full driver comfort, including a full-sized bed. The range includes 4×2 and 6×2 configurations, with the latter equipped with a 4.5-tonne leading axle and 17.5-inch wheels to increase load capacity.

The chassis is powered by PACCAR’s MX-11 or MX-13 engines and comes with Predictive Cruise Control as standard. Safety features include DAF’s Digital Vision System and Corner View, aimed at improving visibility and reducing blind spots — particularly important for urban and regional operations.

Bosmans said the new offerings are part of DAF’s ongoing strategy to provide efficient, ready-made transport solutions tailored to specific operational needs.
