Easter truck bans in Europe this month

In April, there are various truck driving bans during the Easter period across Europe. Here's a summary of the what is in place where and when.

April 14 (Thursday)

Hungary : from 10 p.m. to midnight (trucks with GVW over 7.5t).

April 15 (Good Friday)

Germany : from 12:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. (trucks with GVW over 7.5 t and trucks with trailers),

Italy : from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. (trucks with GVW over 7.5 t),

Switzerland : 24 hours a day (lorries with GVW over 7.5 t),

Slovakia: from midnight to 22:00 (lorries with a GVW over 7.5 t, trucks with a GVW over 3.5 t with a trailer or articulated lorry). However, Slovakia has introduced a relaxation. As a result, driving bans do not apply to trucks entering Slovakia’s territory from neighboring countries, or when  heading to a company headquarters or an unloading point in Slovakian territory.

Slovenia : from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. (trucks and vehicle combinations with GVW over 7.5 t),

Czech Republic : from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. (trucks and vehicle combinations with GVW over 7.5 t),

Hungary : from 00:00 to 22:00.

16 April (Easter Saturday)

France : from 10 p.m. to midnight (trucks and vehicle combinations with a GVW over 7.5 t),

Italy : from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.,

Croatia : from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. (trucks and vehicle combinations with GVW over 7.5 tons, truck and vehicle combinations longer than 14 m),

Luxembourg : from 9:30 p.m. to midnight towards France and from 11:30 p.m. to midnight towards Germany,

Austria : from 3pm to midnight. The restrictions apply to tractors with trailers with a gross vehicle weight of the tractor or trailer of more than 3.5 tons, as well as trucks and articulated vehicles with a gross vehicle weight of more than 7.5 tons,

Poland : from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. (lorries with GVW over 12 t),

Hungary : from 10 p.m. to midnight.

April 17 (Easter Sunday) + April 18 (Easter Monday)

Germany : from 12:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.,

France : from 12:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.,

Italy : from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.,

Croatia : from 2 p.m. to 11 p.m.,

Liechtenstein : 24 hours a day,

Luxembourg : from 00:00 to 21:45,

Austria : from 12:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.,

Poland : from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.,

Switzerland : 24 hours a day,

Slovakia : from 00:00 to 22:00 (A relaxation has been introduced – see above),

Slovenia : from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.,

Czech Republic : from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m.,

Hungary : from 00:00 to 22:00.

April 19 (Tuesday)

Italy : from 9am to 2pm.

April 25 (Monday)

Italy (National Holiday in Italy): from 9am to 10pm.

April 27 (Wednesday)

Slovenia (Resistance Day): from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.

April 29 (Friday)

Croatia : from 3pm to 11pm.

April 30 (Saturday)

France : from 10 p.m. to midnight,
