Once again the countries of the old Union strike against the Eastern European transport. After the Road Alliance of 31 January, a Paris agreement of 13 Labour Ministers of 2 March to build a social Europe, 7 Ministers of European Affairs met on 14 March to demand the introduction of a minimum wage and equate the working conditions of drivers in the EU as a whole.
According to a French journal, “Le Figaro”, referring to an Italian newspaper “Corrier della Sera”, on March 14 seven Ministers of European Afairs of France, Germany, Italy, Greece, Portugal, Malta and Czech Republic appealed jointly for the introduction of a minimum wage in all EU countries.
We want minimum wage in all Member States while respecting national practices in this field and the role of social partners in each country” – stress the Ministers.
Ministers of European Affairs Sandro Gozi, Harlem Désir, Thomàs Prouza, Michael Roth, Georgios Katrougalos, Carmelo Abela, Margarida Marques want a strong social pillar of the Union based on fairness and shared values. The Ministers point out the need for greater coordination of internal policies in the EU.
