Austria: additional Saturday truck bans in place until August 28th

The authorities in Austria have announced that additional truck bans will be in force every Saturday from July 3rd up to an including August 28th.

The Saturday bans were included in an update to Austria’s driving ban calendar recently published by the country’s Federal Ministry for Climate Protection, Environment, Energy, Mobility, Innovation and Technology.

Bans are in force for vehicles over 7.5 tonnes on all Saturdays between 7am and 3pm from July 3rd 2021 up to and including August 28th on the A12 Inntal motorway and A13 Brenner motorway (but not for domestic transport).

Moreover, there is a HGV driving ban on all Saturdays from July 3rd 2021 up to and including August 28th between 8am and 3pm on the following roads:

  • Loferer Straße B178 from Lofer to Wörgl
  • Ennstal Straße B320 starting at 4,500 kilometres
  • The entire stretch of the Seefelder Straße B177
  • Fernpassstraße B179 from Nassereith to Biberwier
  • The entire stretch of the Achensee Straße B181

Finally, there is also a driving ban for the above-mentioned vehicles on all Saturdays from July 3rd 2021 to August 28th 2021 between 8 am and 3 pm on the east Autobahn A4 from the Schwechat junction to the Nickelsdorf state border in both directions, with the exception of destination and source traffic to and from the districts of Neusiedl am See, Eisenstadt, Eisenstadt-Umgebung, Rust, Mattersburg, Bruck an der Leitha, Gänserndorf and Korneuburg.
