The Road Transport Authority in the Netherlands has confirmed that the Beneluxtunnel will be closed to all traffic in both directions on the weekend of 26-29 March.
The closure is due to maintenance work that will take place at 9pm tonight and finish on Monday, March 29th at 5 am. This work relates to the operating systems of the tunnel.
If the work cannot continue due to adverse weather conditions, it will be postponed to the weekend of Friday 26th April.
The diversion routes are as follows:
- Traffic to the south on the ring A4 (Rotterdam-Zuid, Bergen op Zoom and Europoort) will be diverted via the Ring Rotterdam: from the A20 to the A16 to the A15.
- South traffic from the A4 will be diverted north to the A13 via the A4.
- Traffic to the north on the ring A4 (Rotterdam-Noord, Amsterdam and The Hague) will be diverted via the Ring Rotterdam from the A15 to the A16 to the A20.
