Brazil will modify the law so that lorry drivers can defend themselves against criminals.
Thefts in Europe do happen as well assaults on drivers, but in comparison with South America, our continent seems to be a safe place.
Truck raids are very common in Venezuela. They are equally dangerous in Brazil. The situation is serious to the point that the government has been working on a bill that would allow truckers to possess a firearm.
Weapons only for drivers who never broke the law
According to the Brazilian media, truckers will be able to own a weapon to defend themselves, defend their family and the cargo they carry.
To obtain the permit the candidates will pass psychological tests and go through a training. Only truckers who have never been convicted will get the right to possess a gun.
