The company says it now has a direct presence in most European countries. This includes, Portugal, Spain, France, UK, Italy, Germany, Slovakia, Belarus, Turkey, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Macedonia, with the logistics operator also enjoying a “leading market position” in Poland and Central Europe.
According to Codognotto Group, the new branch in Lithuania will be a further step in reinforcing its presence in the Northern countries.
The company also claims its presence in Lithuania will generate “new corridor opportunities for current customers and industries interested in these areas of business”.
Codognotto Group states that its ambition is to become the primary transport operator for transporting goods between Central Europe, the Black Sea and the Baltic Sea by using its existing intermodal network.
Commenting on the news, Matteo Codognotto, Supply Chain Director of Codognotto Italy S.p.A, said:
“The new branch in Lithuania is part of Codognotto plan to extend the company offering by connecting existing road and intermodal services in the Baltic Markets. Codognotto is present today in all Europe, with a leading position in Poland and Central Europe, and Turkey. With the new hub it will be possible to extend the current intermodal network which reaches Poland today, to get to Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and Finland.”
The new site will be based in Vilnius and will be focused on providing road and intermodal transport, with a major focus on Southern and Central Europe.
