Coronavirus in Europe – check out how many cases have been registered

Many countries in Europe have already registered coronavirus patients during the week. The spread of coronavirus in Germany accelerated, according to official data published on Wednesday night. 7 new infections were registered yesterday and the virus reached three new provinces.

Germany

According to official data published on Wednesday evening, 7 new infections were registered in Germany, and the virus spread to three new states within 24 hours.

4 infections were recorded in Baden-Württemberg, 2 in North Rhine-Westphalia and 1 in Rhineland-Palatinate. The coronavirus has accelerated in Germany, reports MTI. 

These are the first cases in Germany that have occurred separately, with no relation to the Chinese focal point, Wuhan, and have not been linked to the infection detected by the Bavarian company Webasto either.

Earlier two people infected by the Wuhan repatriated virus were reported, and another 14 were linked to an infection at a corporate training course at Webasto’s headquarters near Munich in January. 

Austria

The first coronavirus infection has been diagnosed in Vienna; Minister Rudi Anschober announced on Thursday morning. In the Austrian capital, a 72-year-old man was first infected with coronavirus. He is currently in quarantine and investigations are being carried out to ascertain how he could have caught the infection.

Earlier this week, the suspect of coronavirus was reported from Tyrol.

Romania

The coronavirus has also appeared in Romania announced the Ministry of Health Wednesday night. The 20-year-old male currently in quarantine is asymptomatic.

Croatia

According to the news, 3 people have been infected with the virus in Croatia. The latest case was revealed on Wednesday. A man, who worked in Palermo, Sicily, is currently in quarantine at a hospital in Rijeka.

The first patient reported Tuesday by the government was a 26-year-old man who was in Milan a week ago. On Wednesday his twin brother was also reported to be infected with the virus. They are both in quarantine at the Zagreb infectious disease clinic with mild symptoms.

Italy

According to data published late Wednesday evening, 12 people have passed away in Italy due to coronavirus, and there are 400 cases known by the authorities. 11 cities, home to a total of 55,000 people, are under quarantine. 

The regions of Veneto and Lombardy are the most infected areas in Italy.

Towns in quarantine in Lombardy: Codogno, Castiglione d’Adda, Casalpusterlengo, Fombio, Maleo, Somaglia, Bertonico, Terranova dei Passerini, Castelgerundo, San Fiorano;

Towns in quarantine in Veneto: Vo ‚Euganeo (Padua).

Western Europe

Thirteen cases have been reported in Britain , but according to the BBC there are also coronavirus patients in Norway, France, Spain and Switzerland . According to a report by the Polish News Agency, Denmark and Estonia have now become infected with the virus.

More new diseases outside China than in China

According to a summary by the World Health Organization (WHO) published on Wednesday, Tuesday was the first time when more new infections were reported outside China than inside China. In Asia, 411 new infections have been found and in the rest of the world, 427 new cases have been registered.
