The European Commission has approved the merger between Evri and DHL Parcel UK, confirming that the deal is compatible with the EU’s internal market and the European Economic Area.

In its decision dated 22 September 2025, the Commission said it would not oppose the concentration, which gives Apollo Capital Management and Deutsche Post joint control over DHL Parcel UK and Evri. The clearance was granted under Article 6(1)(b) of the EU Merger Regulation, following a simplified review process.

The merger was first announced in May 2025 and subsequently cleared by the UK’s Competition and Markets Authority earlier this month. Under the agreement, DHL eCommerce UK’s operations will be integrated into Evri, while DHL will retain a minority stake in Evri through its holding company.

DHL Parcel UK provides next-day parcel and mail delivery services in the UK, while Evri operates mainly in the UK parcel sector but also offers contract logistics in the Netherlands and cross-border freight forwarding in Ireland through its subsidiary Coll-8.

The Commission concluded that the deal qualified for simplified treatment, meaning it did not raise significant competition concerns at the European level.

With both UK and EU approvals now secured, the merger is set to proceed, paving the way for the creation of one of Britain’s largest parcel delivery businesses.
