TollCollect terminals near the German border are getting withdrawn, therefore, drivers will have to use the TollCollect app to pay road toll fees, warns French transportation news portal Les Routiers.
The only option left to pay the LKWMaut in advance when you don’t have a box is the Tollcollect app, which can be downloaded for free. This will be a problem for drivers who do not know when they return to France and who do not have an internet data package on their phone to check in once in Germany” – the article reads.
Les Routiers adds that Eurovignette toll terminals at service stations for Luxembourg and the Netherlands will also be withdrawn by the end of the year.
