In a press release, Sjef Boekestijn, Chief Operations Officer at Boekestijn Transport, said the company had gone from 500 to 1,000 trucks in just two years.

Boekestijn added that the haulier’s decision to chose Mercedes-Benz Trucks was based on “good price-quality ratio” as well as “clear and firm agreements” concerning delivery times.

“This is important to us, because as soon as we get the key, we start using the truck for our customers that same day. In addition, our own developed API works excellently with the Mercedes-Benz software. This gives us real-time insight into data such as speed, GPS coordinates, consumption,” said Sjef Boekestijn.

The 500 trucks are all Mercedes-Benz Actros 1842 and are equipped with a fully digital dashboard, mirrorcams and two beds. In addition, the vehicles have electronic safety systems including Predictive Powertrain Control, Active Sideguard Assist and Active Brake Assist 5.

Up to 20 of the trucks are being delivered to the Dutch haulier every week, with each one hitting the road pretty much immediately.

In the aforementioned press release, Boekestijn Transport says that although it was founded as a Dutch company, 95% of its employees work elsewhere in Europe. The International trucking division, which has its HQ in Poznan, Poland, is currently by far its largest business unit.

The company also has branches in 10 locations including Ireland, Bulgaria, Sweden and Moldova.
