The eActros 600 is currently delivering to Lidl branches in Trentino–South Tyrol and the Lake Garda region during the summer months. It is equipped with a nitrogen-cooled semitrailer for transporting temperature-sensitive goods.
The deployment is part of a broader initiative by LC3 Trasporti, which has ordered a total of 30 eActros 600 units to establish one of Europe’s first fully electric long-haul fleets. The trucks were supplied through the dealership Rossi Veicoli, in coordination with Daimler Truck Italia.
“The eActros 600 is a revolutionary vehicle that marks an important step in the future of logistics,” said Maurizio Pompei, CEO of Daimler Truck Italia. “This collaboration with LC3 Trasporti and Lidl Italia is a concrete example of how we can make a difference.”
Deliveries of the eActros 600 began in December 2024 following its series launch at the Mercedes-Benz plant in Wörth. The vehicle has a battery capacity of 621 kilowatt hours, delivered by three lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery packs. It offers a range of approximately 500 kilometres without intermediate charging at a gross combination weight of 40 tonnes. Daily distances of over 1,000 kilometres are possible with recharging during statutory driver breaks.
LC3 Trasporti, based in Italy, operates a fleet of over 250 vehicles, 70% of which use what the company describes as 100% sustainable propulsion. The firm introduced nitrogen refrigeration systems to the Italian market in 2019 and specialises in temperature-controlled and container transport.
Lidl Italia operates 780 stores across the country, supplied by 12 logistics platforms and employing around 23,000 people.
The eActros 600 was named International Truck of the Year 2025 by a jury of European commercial vehicle journalists. According to Daimler Truck, the award was based on the vehicle’s drive axle and battery technology.
