The new trailers, built to order by German manufacturer Krone, will be operational by June 2024 and deployed for clients in the retail, automotive, and packaging sectors.

Efret highlights several advantages of the new mega trailers. Compared to standard models, these trailers offer increased capacity, which means that larger volumes of goods can be transported in fewer trips. This can potentially reduce fuel consumption and overall transport costs. The design of the trailers also makes them versatile. They can accommodate overheight or irregularly shaped loads and are suitable for a variety of industries.

An important feature is their intermodal compatibility. The design complies with XL code regulations, enabling seamless switching between road and rail transport. This can be particularly beneficial for sustainable long-distance freight movement, with the example of the Viia rail connection between Calais and Perpignan being cited.

“We’re seeing a period of economic recovery in Europe, but with a shrinking transport market capacity,” commented Efret CEO Alain Jestin. “This investment in our mega trailer fleet is strategically timed to support our growth and that of our customers.”

Established in 2005, Efret offers a range of logistics solutions across Europe and North Africa, including full trailer and container loads, intermodal services, air freight, and customs brokerage.
