Two freight forwarders based in Germany are now subject to a police investigation following the discovery that one of their drivers had worked for over a year without a licence.

According to multiple reports in the German media, the driver in question managed to complete a total of 123 trips for multiple parties in just over 12 months before he was eventually caught.

The truth about the 55-year-old driver was uncovered last month during police road checks near the town of Neckarzimmern.

It is reported that the two forwarders who employed the driver, who are based Bruchsal in Aalen, have not yet been able to provide any evidence that they had checked if the driver holds a licence.

As a consequence, the managers of the two companies are being investigated by the police.
