Full closure of the Frejus tunnel imminent

Due to planned works and safety drills, the Fréjus tunnel will be completely closed this week. However, for several nights in July, traffic will be redirected there.

Due to a safety drill, the Fréjus tunnel on the Italian-French border will be completely closed from Monday evening, 8 July. It will be impassable in both directions from 22:00 today until 06:00 tomorrow (Tuesday, 9 July).

In addition, this month the tunnel manager, SFTRF, has scheduled a number of dates when night traffic will alternate. This will allow for safety improvement works to be carried out at the facility. The nights in question are: 9, 10, 11, 15, 16, 17, 18, 22, 23, 24, 25, 29, 30, and 31 July.

From 22:30 on the dates indicated above until 04:30 the following morning, the traffic organisation will be as follows:
