GXO Logistics has reorganised its leadership structure, bringing the UK and Ireland division under the direct supervision of CEO Patrick Kelleher. The company says the change is intended to streamline decision-making and strengthen operational execution across its key European markets.

Under the new structure, the UK and Ireland business, led by Gavin Williams, and the Continental Europe division, headed by Paul Mohan, will both report directly to the chief executive. The move removes the previous European management layer.

Richard Cawston, who has served as President of Europe and Chief Revenue Officer since 2024, will leave the company once a new Chief Commercial Officer is appointed. GXO said Cawston will remain in post during the transition to ensure continuity.

According to the company, the new reporting lines are expected to “accelerate decision-making in these important markets”.

Leadership change in the Americas and Asia Pacific

The restructuring also includes the appointment of Michael Jacobs as President of the Americas and Asia Pacific, effective 3 November. Jacobs joins from Ferguson Enterprises, where he served as Senior Vice President of Supply Chain, and brings more than three decades of logistics and retail experience.

He replaces Jorge Guanter, who has led the region since 2023. Jacobs will be based in Dallas.

New COO role introduced

GXO also plans to create a Chief Operating Officer position reporting directly to the CEO. The new role will be responsible for standardising operations and overseeing global execution across regions.

The changes mark the first major structural adjustments under Kelleher’s leadership since he became CEO earlier this year.

GXO operates extensive logistics and warehousing sites across the UK, serving clients in retail, e-commerce and manufacturing. The UK is one of the company’s largest European markets and plays a central role in its automation and fulfilment operations.
