Holiday traffic bans 2019. Check when and where you can’t go by truck.

Check out the traffic bans around Christmas in the European countries. Due to the festive seasons, most countries will have driving restrictions for trucks. 

In addition to regular Saturday and Sunday traffic bans the restrictions will also apply during Christmas and the days before Christmas in December in some EU countries. Just like on New Year’s Day. Here is a summary of the next traffic bans for trucks:

December 24 (Tuesday, Christmas Eve)

Croatia – from 15.00 to 23.00. The restriction applies to all vehicles and sets with GVW above 7.5 t.

Czech Republic – from 13.00 to 22.00. The ban applies to heavy goods vehicles and sets with a gross vehicle weight above 7.5 tonnes.

France – from 22.00 to 24.00. Vehicles with a GVW exceeding 7.5 tonnes must not drive on the roads at this time.

Luxembourg – from 21.00:30 to 24.00 – a ban on all roads towards France; from 23.00:30 to 24.00 – ban on all roads towards Germany. Restrictions apply to vehicles with GVW over 7.5 tons with or without a trailer.

Slovakia – from 0:00 to 22.00. Slovak traffic bans apply to heavy goods vehicles and sets with GVW over 7.5 t. 

Hungary – from 22.00 to 24.00. It is forbidden to drive trucks, agricultural tractors with trailers above 7.5 tons.

Italy – from 9.00 to 14.00. Heavy goods vehicles and vehicle combinations above 7.5 tons will not be allowed to drive.

December 25 (Wednesday, Christmas)

Austria – from 0:00 to 22.00. The traffic ban covers tractors with trailers with a GVW of tractor or trailer over 3.5 t, trucks, articulated vehicles with GVW exceeding 7.5 t.

Croatia – from 14 to 23.00 .

Czech Republic – from 13 to 22.00.

France – from 0:00 to 22.00.

Liechtenstein – from 0:00 to 24.00. The bans apply to heavy goods vehicles with GVW over 3.5 t and sets with GVW over 5 t.

Luxembourg – from 0:00 to 21.00:45 – towards both France and Germany.

Germany – from 0:00 to 22.00nd. Heavy goods vehicles with a GVW of over 7.5 tonnes and lorries with trailers cannot travel on German roads . 

Poland – from 8.00 to 22.00. The ban covers heavy goods vehicles above 12 tons. 

Slovakia – from 0:00 to 22.00. Slovenia – from 8.00 to 21.00. The restriction applies to heavy goods vehicles and vehicle sets with GVW exceeding 7.5 tonnes.

Switzerland – from 0:00 to 24.00. Swiss bans include trucks with GVW over 3.5 t.

Hungary – from 0:00 to 24.00.

Italy – from 9 to 22.00.

December 26 (Thursday, Christmas)

Austria – from 0:00 to 22.00.

Croatia – from 14 to 23.00.

Czech Republic – from 13 to 22.00.

France – from 0:00 to 22.00.

Liechtenstein – from 0:00 to 24.00:00.

Luxembourg – from 0:00 to 21.00:45.

Germany – from 0:00 to 22.00. 

Poland – from 8.00 to 22.00.

Slovakia – from 0:00 to 22.00. 

Slovenia – from 8.00 to 21.00. 

Switzerland – from 0:00 to 24.00. 

Hungary – from 0:00 to 22.00.

Italy – from 9 to 22.00.

December 31 (Tuesday)

Croatia – from 15.00 to 23.00.
